Larry that's really cool! Good on you for doing some short kits too! I've had a blast cutting a few short kits for my buddies on the bro site, but I am not going to venture into anything that complex like making fiberglass fuse! :)

In fact that's why I need some foam. I plan to cut a couple ACE RC Extra 230 30% kits, and a couple Lightning Pattern plane kits for myself and #JAG

What is the Lightning pattern plane? Is that an old design or a newer one for FAI style flying?

You guys are not stupid! It is just way more satisfying to cut and scratch build your own stuff even if it does cost more, who cares! That Lightning is a pretty model and I'll bet if flies like it's on rails.

If cost had anything to do with it I would never do my own glass fuselages from scratch, by the time my first fuse comes out of the mold I will have close to $1000.00 in the drawings,plug, molds, and finally the glass and epoxy for the actual fuse, but it's so rewarding to do it all your self!

I have enjoyed my venture into scratch building the past couple of years. I enjoy building as much as flying up until the point where I start installing equipment. Like Chris I build mostly profile stuff, and rebuild Cardens too. The pattern plane will be something different. I think we will probably power them with 30cc gassers though! :) :) :)

Be very curious to see how the pattern planes work out with the 30cc gas! Like it, and wanting to do something similar!!

I don't fly glow anymore. I haven't in years and don't really miss it. I also have interest in electric this big so it has to be gas.
