I like 'em "BIG"!
I have been looking at different schemes. I have an idea of what I want in my head. But getting it to the covering table is another story. I like Blue with white, some reds, not too many greens...black and silver are options. And I do really like the Pearl Purple that Pilot RC uses on the their airframes. Ultracote makes some pretty colors. I am just not too keen on Yellow though. Don't know why. Just can't get any warm and fuzzies for it. What would be very awesome is covering that fades from burnt orange to a fading yellow for flames.... But I have never seen covering like that. I thought about "original" schemes and more traditional schemes as well. Still, I would like something that is going to show really nicely in the sky and be sexy at the same time. Too far down the road to worry too much about that right now. Just trying to get the last of the items needed ordered. About all that is left is the wing tubes and sleeves. There are certain parts of this plane that make zero sense to me. "BUT", after looking at @Wacobipe's thread on the other site....(damned fine and impeccable build I might add), it is clear to me that "HE" has much more ability for such things than I seem to remember. Not so sure it will be done any time soon. I will be referring to his thread quite often I suspect.Hey Rob,
Going back to the subject of color schemes, you could cover yours in the scheme of the Swedish S-12 Viking. It is just blue and yellow for the most part with flames on the cowl, and I know how much you like flames. . . . .. I'm sure Callie or Brad could do the Viking head in vinyl as well. Check it out.
Your S12 is coming right along. At the rate you're going, you're going to be done with it LONG before I can get my AMR Stick done. . . . . . .

So.... in ordering the wing tubes, would it be better to get the .035 wall thickness or would it be best to get the .049? Will there be much of a weight difference between the two? If so, how much? Same price either way, just want to make sure I have enough strength.

using a weight aluminum weight calculator a .035 tube should weigh approx .27lbs for a 36" long tube and a .049 should be .38lbs
The .035 is probably fine with the size of the airplane but for piece of mind it is probably worth the weight difference in going with the .049 so that is what we would suggest.

A 36" long, 0.75" x 0.049" 6061- T6 tube I have on hand weights 6.0 ounces. I'll be using it in a large Bucker Jungmann.

Thank you Kevin and Al for your responses. Ordered the .049 tubes. I totally agree the almost insignificant difference in weight between the two is not enough of a concern. I just wanted to make sure I would have the needed strength. I am very pleased with OminModels lately. Man, when they ship...they ship....FAST!!!!! I placed my order for the stringers and needed wood "way" early Monday morning. The entire contents of wood was sitting at my door when I returned home last night. (Wednesday) Total shipping charge was $0.00. Have a couple of errands to attend to this morning. Once back, I'm going to bust out some moves on the fuselage. Maybe get most of it completed today.
