Decided it was time to try something newer and placed my order for an 18sza. With Tower's coupon it was only $930 shipped. Looking forward to getting my fleet loaded up on it and trying it out.
And after that's done we go fly big birds! :adore: :applause:

I'd like to compare it to my 18MZ as well.

I've got about a dozen flights on mine so far. I am really liking it. The transmitter feels great in my hands (10 ounces lighter than the 18MZ).

As far as "servo matching", it is just like the 18MZ that regard. Each servo can be assigned to its own channel. You can set the center and end points for each channel. Then you can then use a 17-point curve in the AFR menu for each channel to fine tune each servo. The 18SZ programming is nearly identical to the 18MZ. The menus are laid out differently due to the different size of the screen, but that is really not a big deal.

How is this radio holding up judge? I Hope well as I need a replacement for my 14sg and this is the one I ordered.

It is doing great. I have over 150 hours on mine with zero issues. I rarely use my 18MZ any more. Ive flown 5 power planes and 3 gliders using it and it has proven to be exactly what I expected. It offers 97% of what the 18MZ does for 1/3rd the price. That is value!!

I agree with the value. Got mine coming for a little over 900 to the door.

That's a killer price for this radio!! It will be a big step up from the 14SG, especially since it does conditions in all aircraft types. 8 per model!! And once you program using a touch screen nothing else will ever do!!

Maybe one day I will fly well enough to need conditions. I just fly by the sticks but never had a radio that would do conditions. About the most I have ever used is mixed to limit coupling in airframes.

I'm with you Buddy, I have triple rates set up (all on 1 switch) on my 14SG and that's it. I don't fly enough to need the SZ but would love to have it.

Conditions are not about being good enough to use them. Conditions are all about giving you ease and flexibility in using the full potential of the radio. Once you use them you'll wonder how you lived without them.

If you don't mind Judge. What kind of condition do you use? I don't really understand how this all works. I only use three rates for control services normally all on different switches. This way I can have more rudder if I want it. It not elevator or vice versa. I have a few planes a have mixes on all the time to eliminate coupling issues. This is just for knife edge and flat turns. What else am I missing?

Took me a bit to get the hang of conditions and I still have a way to go, but wow it is amazing how it changes your thinking of the way you use your radio.
