Is a DLE-61 any good?

Been looking for a DA-60 but if that doesn't come through is the DLE-61 any good? I know the 110, 55 and 30/35 were popular but the chinese manufacturers don't necessarily nail it with every try.....so is the 61 safe or a dog?

I was wondering the same thing. Thought of you when I saw a good deal on the 61 on that "other site", but I have no experience with them. For $50 bucks more I'd be tempted to try out that DLE 60 Twin. It looks like a good deal too.

only problem with a twin is it's less power for more weight. other than that i've really LOVED the sound and smooth running twins I've had.

i just missed a DA-60 from @Notorious B.E.N. by a day!

if anyone needs a really nice Zenoah G62 for a warbird project, i've got one for sale.

@Bartman, I would also look into the EME 70. I've heard good things about it and it's only $70 more than the DLE 61.

I think @Terryscustom had a DLE 61 on his PAU Sukhoi he used to have. Pretty sure he was really happy with it but maybe he will weigh in to give his opinion.

Go with the DLE61. I'm putting one on my pilot edge 540. Would not risk that airframe if i was not confident in the power plant. @emtp275 has one on his EF yak ,I think, and it runs like a champ.

went ahead and bought it used so we'll see how it does. it'll be a big weight savings over the G62 it is replacing and i'll be able to remove the weight in the tail so i'm excited.

I just bought my second 5 year motor.........EME 60. Go with the DLE 61..........It's a 5.1 year motor!

Seriously though.........EME, DLE, DA. Which one??? Why??? How much???

EME- Very good power, VERY Reliable, Least expensive. Great customer support. Smooth running engine.
DLE- Very good power, Very reliable, A wee bit lighter, cost 100 bucks more. Smooth running engine.
DA- Excellent power, Very reliable, shiny, Light, cost's the most. Super customer service. No muffler included.

Now I have seen where import pricing has gone up on the EME line and the 60 is about 420 to your door through China retailers.
However.....Mike still sells them for LESS! A few good guys have had some issues with the EME 55 but nothing a new 55 would not fix .

I noticed that the EME engines are less money but I'm inclined to buy used. Was going to spend the extra money for a DA but there aren't any to be found and I can't afford a new one at the moment.
