While I was messing around with the fire wall I figured out about where the throttle and choke linkages should go

I did a little cutting on the fiber glass cowling that goes behind the engine

This is just a ruff cut to make it easier to handle

now I have to decide what to tackle next most likely it will be mounting and cutting

the cabanes for the upper wings center section

this is critical that the measurements are correct so I'll be taking my time with this one.

Looking forward to the rest of your build! I have a used 33% waco waiting for its evolution 260. I have heard a vogelslang fuel pump really helps these engines run more consistently. I've seen them lean out and shut down in the air without a pump.

Keep up the good work!

Here I added some triangle stock to the inside of the motor box to help support

that big 16 pound engine.

Next I decided I should start tackling the mounting of the top wing center section

the way this is done during construction is to build a bridge above the fuse

and aline the center section with the airframe.

Since this was put together previously and the parts were lost over the years

I have to make new struts for it.

but this is more difficult than I thought and it has to be correct or

the airplane may fly horribly

I'll be taking my time on this part to get right

To make the struts for the center section you first

cut and fit some dummy struts from balsa.

Get them all in place recheck your measurements

then you can transfer to the hard wood struts.

I finished the center section struts and decided to mount some servos.

I already had the location for the throttle and choke linkages drilled thru the fire wall

so using some old servos I mounted 2 3/8 X 1/4 hardwood rails for the servos.

across the engine box.

I decided to cut open the luggage compartment hatch this will serve as the radio gear compartment.

With the Plywood skin removed here,I can now access the inside of the airframe.

Now that I can get inside the airframe I was able to install

some hard wood rails for the rudder servo.

I needed to make a frame to hold the shape of the luggage hatch door

I cut some curved pieces to form the fuselage curve shape and boxed it out.

DSCF1440_zpsb970f9a7.jpg

I added a couple of scrap pieces to strengthen it and glued it to the plywood skin.

I plan on installing the elevator servos in the horizontal stab.

with that in mind I cut some holes in the formers for a paper tube to go in

this will hold the servo wires for the elevators.

Here's a blurry picture of the trial fit of the tube.
