AJ Laser 230z 73" Build Thread

Nope, haven't tach it yet. I will. Probably middle of this week.

Not really a big deal for me, just curious. I am trying to start moving away from using a tach and just going with sound and performance, but it's still kind of fun to know the numbers.

Flew the Laser today. I had one of the more experienced pilots at the field do the shake down flight. All, I can say is WOW. This thing tracks on rails whether on knife edge or on vertical lines. The engine (a DA35) performed excellent, lots of power. I will need to tweak the low rates on the elevator and rudder, I went the wrong way on the expo. Anyway, it is a keeper. I am really going to enjoy flying this one.

I just realized how long it's been since I did anything to this build thread...
I've been busy flying, fishing, and whatever else is involved with enjoying an Alaskan summer before winter strikes back... again @dcraft do you have anymore flying reports on how your bird has been? @Jakeg1999 how about you bud?
more pics anyone? BirdStrike feel free to post any questions in this build log as well. It's hard tracking down good servos for your flying machine.

I'm in the process of building mine (v2)....I'm going with a tail mounted servo (Savox 1270tg) for the rudder and elevator, anyone have any thoughts?

Depends on your build to see if the CG works out for you. I mounted everything but the rudder servo and then attached it with masking tape to verify that it would work. It did for my build.
