Maybe have a black Friday sale that includes the actual black friday? Twisted hobbies would of sold a few more planes and powersystems if they would of honored theit BLACK FRIDAY sale on BLACK FRIDAY.
I saw the Facebook post and it was a legit question that was answered with basically a **** you too bad. Didn't even attempt to try to offer a discount of some sort to make a repeat customer happy.

If you guys new skywagn180 you know he isn't petty and has a fairly valid point concerning the not black Friday black friday sale.

You guys don't seem very friendly. Brand loyalty is one thing, but being vindictive to defend your brand is another. This is between me and a retailer that upset me with their business practice. It is my choice to hold them accountable and I am doing so to help you and others keep prices and customer expectations in check. I did not ever bad mouth their product.

The "rich" part was a joke. I just saved a few bucks so I'm making fun of myself for being cheep. I've never seen a copy of a Crack plane. They just don't exist. Some have used ideas from the design, but exact materials and construction techniques have not ever been copied to my knowledge. Techone did start to use similar spars, but how many foamies out there have similar spars and bracing to other brands? The designs are totally different.

FYI, I actually own the 125" E.F. Extra. No I did not buy it on sale. I have never bought and airframe from them because of it. I bought it almost new, but used, at less than 1/3 the cost from an IMACer who had problems with tail twisting and hinge issues. The manufacturer knew about these major problems and upgraded their later production models. I modified the airframe, recovered it like new and it is now better than any production version out there. These things are all made in China these days. Nobody has a perfect airframe.

All my 3dhs stuff was purchased on sale. They aren't too good to bring down their premium prices for us once in a while. Horizon also gets my business when sales happen. Last year it was the Beast for 20% off and free shipping. Twisted Hobbies usually helps us out. They did this year too. I just didn't agree with the way the sale was done and misunderstood it as I only glanced at the add in passing on a message board. I didn't ever receive it. It messed with my plans. I asked them to fix the problem and they didn't. That's not $40 worth of customer service to me. Who needs service on a foamy anyway really? To be honest, I build many myself and they perform and look as good as production models. Time is just at a premium, so I kit it sometimes. This is not a personal attack on any of you. Please don't take it that way or act like it is.

Thanks:)

I'm actually super friendly :)

I felt like your post attacked a reputable vendor for having a sale that didn't suit you.
I disagree with how you voiced it, and replied in kind.

You said, "This is between me and a retailer that upset me with their business practice."

Again, I respectfully disagree. You posted your opinion in a publicly viewable message on this forum. IMHO, that invites discussion. If you didn't want people to voice their agreement or disagreement, it might have been better not to post your thoughts?

You also said, "this just opened my eye to how much I was overpaying for the product that isn't any better than what others are offering for cheaper"

Again, I disagree to an extent. There are copies of TH planes, and there are others out there for less. However, I don't see them constantly developing new, fresh models. I see the others copying TH designs, or putting out inferior/older designs. Also, like i mentioned, TH gives a lot back to the community through their sales (marketed to your satisfaction or not) and their support of flying events and such. I feel that deserves credit and recognition.

Please don't take my disagreement with some of your thoughts as unfriendliness.

Well said Gyro. The post below is not to pick on you, or to act like a Twisted Hobby fanboi.

When it comes to foam planes, I have flown so many from so many different companies. DW, TechOne,Bowker, FancyFoam, Multiplex, E-flight, hobby king junk, great planes, there was one that I loved very much from tech one, Venus 4d, it flys awesome (mylar covered Depron) They do make some cool Depron stuff, but their EPP planes fly nothing like the stuff from Twisted. You said you saw some vids of the MX3 and MX2 flying and they were awesome. I have a Depron MX3 and it is set up with no expense spared. I have 20 hours of flights on it and il will say compared to my TH EPP stuff, I hate it. RJ Gridder loves it and can fly it better than anyone. My point is any plane can appear to fly well if you have an incredible pilot at the sticks.

What makes a plane fly well and be easy for others to fly for newbies like myself is design. Twisted is at the cutting edge of EPP foamie design. They have built a team of world class pilots who fly and design planes with planes with their heart. Yep with their heart... The planes you see come out of twisted were visions have that became a reality. They took what was in their mind, designed it, flew it, refined it, repeated the process until the designs were perfect in every detail. Then they partnered with a factory who lives and loves foam planes with the same passion as they do to bring the visions to the the world.

Buying a TH plane is like buying a plane that was developed and built buy a passion driven Formula One race team with a full shop, VS a single guy in a garage with an open source CNC router with a Dremel. Everyone starts somewhere, heck I have one of original TH extra's he hand cut in his basement. It is a neat plane, but it is not anything close to what TH offers today. Times change people grow, and Twisted is no exception, the stuff they sell is at the top of the food chain with respect to not only performance, but service!

You think $69 bucks is a lot for a foamie? That new MXS-C mini is a superstar and IMO in the top 3 of the best flying EPP models in the world. Even in my hands it does things I can't do with any other foamie (a deep crankshaft). In the hands of the masters, wow it will be something to see.

I get it, you are pissed, you missed a sale, and you think that sale was not offered correctly. Don't let that ruin your opinion of TH, because in life we all make mistakes. Don't let what you perceive as a marketing mistake stop you from owning a plane that you can use as a tool to become a world class pilot. Yes there are other foam planes in the world, and some fly very well. But, I am here to tell you you will not find a better flying EPP plane than the Crack Laser, MXS-C full size and mini. The crack yak is amazing and so is the beaver for just messing around and trying to learn new moves, moves like the rolling harrier. All the TH planes fly extremely well because they were developed, and tested by world class talent, then manufactured by a company who are dedicated to perfection.

The only way to get a foam plane that flys better is to move to Depron and believe me this is not for the faint of heart or a shy bankroll. Competition pilots who compete on the world stage don't fly Depron because it's so durable. Anyways, I am not here to make you feel bad. I am not here to be your enemy, I would prefer to be your friend. And this is exactly what I would say to a friend why feels the same way you do. Squash that nonsense, get over it, kick down some cash and get what you really want, forget about a few bucks saved, and buy the stuff that flys good. Then I would put a pack in my laser hand them the radio and say, "take a pull on this, it will have you throwing rocks at your entire fleet of foamies"

I really wish to the best regardless which planes you decide to love. Fly, have fun, and get better... AKf

Thanks AK. As always, these computers don't reflect our true personalities or intent at times. We will have to agree to disagree on some of what you stated, but that's okay. We all have our opinions. I agree with a fair share of it too. Like you said, highly experienced flyers can make just about anything look good in the air. I also agree with you in the idea that epp just doesn't fly that well in general. I prefer depron, but my flying partners are a wild bunch, so I have an epp Air Force on indoor night. They would eat my tail off if I took a depron plane up with them in the air. Lmao.

And no, I would not consider $69 dollars unreasonable for a nice printed epp foamy. Unfortunately, the going rate is $88.49 shipped for a Crack Yak right now. I do find that excessive considering the current market is offering like kits with like performance for $38 less to the door with L/G. Call me cheap, but that's a lot of money for some foam, a stick , a tiny piece of plywood and a few rods.

My substandard epp kit planes definitely do fly differently. In some ways each one of them is inferior to my RC Factory planes. I've only flown five of their production models, but they all fly very different as well. In some ways my other planes will all do something exciting my RC Factory planes won't do. Even when I have an RC Factory plane on the bench, my other planes get equal flying time because they all have such personality. It's all fun.

And finally, yes I was upset when I found out I missed the sale. It made complete sense why I missed it after the fact, but it was a honest misunderstanding on my end. I gave the retailer a fair chance to sell me the planes at the price I would have got them and they chose not to honor the price. I'm an honest guy that wants a honest retailer to sell me something at a fair price. This is a small community. I thought the least they could do is help me out, especially at the price point of the product. Even a grocery store chain manager would have done so in this case. TH decided not to. They have never supported any event I've been to. They did not seem concerned about keeping my business. I just want others to know. TH has acknowledged the confusion over the sale. It has been said that future sales will take this misunderstanding into consideration. That can only be a good thing. If you check the other boards, I'm not alone in my frustration. Many more are silent because they don't want fans jumping them. I'm not afraid of that obviously.

It's been a ride, but I'm now calling myself out.:deadhorse: lol.
