Bavarian Demon Cortex

Cool, so basically set it at the highest rate you plan to fly the plane at. Thanks Gyro.

BTW, I have been listening to the podcasts when I am in the car travelling, it really passes the time and I am really enjoying them. I am almost all of the way through them though so keep it up!

I have another question...

I am wanting to hook the Cortex up to my computer so I can install the latest firmware version. When I plug the Cortex and USB cable into the computer the computer program does not see the Cortex. The light also does not come on. Do I need to have external power applied through my RX to connect it to the computer? I was hoping all I would need is the USB cable, but it doesn't seem to power up the Cortex alone.

Yes, I believe you still need power, however, not all USB plugs are equal, and some don't supply power to any device.

Plugged it up like it was going into the airplane (external power) and it fired right up. Thanks for the help, I didn't want to plug it into external power and the USB and possibly over volt it or something.

Already had the latest firmware version, lol.

I was able to change the servo type from analog to digital. Into the plane it goes!

GYRO What is suggestion for a starting point for gains? Mine went into a 48" Laser so I am guessing that it is going to be about the same as your Edge. I am not going to set mine up with a Hold mode, just normal and "high wind".

I found 25-30 works really well for me, so it might be a good start point for you also :)

I would start with 20/40, and fyi if you do not want hold mode you will need to go in to programing and copy bank 1 to bank 2

Thanks I didn't realize I needed to copy the banks. I will try to figure that out tomorrow.

I don't think you "have to" if you set it up on a switch and disable or don't engage the heading hold side.
All you need to do is put the travel adjust for the heading hold side to zero, and it won't engage.
Right YellowJacketsRC or 3drcparts.com?
