    Welcome!

This really gives the hobby a bad name and some clubs are alot like this

The funny thing is that Rob was the safety officer at his old club. Although in my experience both clubs have pilots that crash planes into the pits.

Damn I'm hungry
I am VERY fortunate to have a private strip to practice and trial my airframes. When I first saw the video it blew me away on how exacting the attitude was. I thought it was my club but my club has snow bird rules. As a qualifying FOG my mind set stays with the younger crowd and the exciting challenges the younger minds envisage. Old Fart syndrome needs to be eradicated. Way too many politicians whose only purpose is to stir the pot of complacency. "Fly circles and be happy" , "Time for a nooner!", "Bought my chair at Wal-mart", "Shure is sunny today", "Yea, it's

got a little to much dihedral". "That fuel aint no good". Sound familiar any one?

I like 'em "BIG"!
Sound familiar? Umm, oh yeah. How about these? "Planes really don't fly like that you know?" "Geez, for the price of your prop, I can have two or three planes". "If you wanna fly like that, maybe you should consider going somewhere else". To which my responses have been something to the sort of, "Umm, actually they do fly like that". Have you not checked the advancements and full scale piloting skills lately?" "Oh sorry, I forgot your internet still lives in the '40's". "Yes, that is probably true... you could buy two or three planes for the price of my prop".... "cool huh"? And my favorite, "Naa...that's ok. I like staying here and flying like this just to PISS you off".

I and my son, and a few of our friends were constantly being "bludgeoned" over our aerobatic planes. "those planes are too big", "they're dangerous". All the while, "those" with so much to say and so much to comment on, are the ones that are totaling a plane at the rate of at least two per week. These pilots I speak of are flyinig 30 to 40 inch electrics and foamies. Some with some larger glow (shudder) and gas. In the pits, Out of our flying boundries. ON THE GOLF COURSE that is adjacent the field. Smashing them to pieces no larger than a quarter on the runway, Nearly taking other pilots heads off as they crash two feet away. I keep a constant tally of "EVERY" flight in a log book just as you would with full scale. To date, I have 1283 flights in the last four years. Two with minor dead stick damage. (Landing gear departed from fuse) and one complete total, (inverted flat spin too low to the ground) which I might add, was "WELL" within the boundaries and completely away from pits, other flyers and even the runway. And yet...."WE" are dangerous? Thank you, but I'll stay away from clubs "AND" people like that.
I didn't know you flew at my field. At least it sounds just like what happens there. There's one guy that's really a hazard. He crashes more planes in a month than I've crash since I stared flying long ago. He has flown right over my head when I was bent over starting my airplane. He is going to hurt someone sooner or later.

And if you think people hate you for flying 3D add a helicopter to that.

I snuck in late at night. Your members found me flying the next day. Or was it you that snuck into my field late at night? Oh well, the outcome was the same. Funny thing??? They don't mind heli's.... figure that one out? I guess it's just that I, (according to them) fly my planes like a helicopter. Which to them is not normal. Now whoever said I claimed to be normal? LOL

Our safety officer just resigned over helicopters. Evidently they totally freak him out and he went off on one of the heli guys about how dangerous they are before he even got out of his car the other day. The incident did get us two new 15' x 15' heli pads on the crosswind runway. I'd rather not hog the runway when I'm practicing and keeping the heli right in front of me any way.
