There were only four or five of us flying that day and everyone was kind of taking turns with lulls in between. The old guy didn't even have his plane ready and the minute my buddy Tony took off he started yelling, "when am I gunna get to use the field!" He was cussing and acting like a little kid.

To me, it's the guy that needs the whole field to himself every time he takes off that's the real field hog.

In contrast to the other story, a few months ago there was another club member trying to get a maiden flight on a new gasser. He was up next in line to fly and in front of me but was struggling with the plane/engine for some reason. I told him that as soon as I heard his engine running, I would land my electric powered laser. I think I got in a 4 minute flight before he was ready to taxi out.

Ortho,

You are always welcome at our field in Tyler, Texas...Bring yourself and your buddies anytime. Our club motto is "be our guest"...and that means as much or as often as you like.

The video in this thread made me absolutely sick! FWIW we once had that very same problem here with another club too... Our club, the TUFF club, changed that! Now we welcome everyone...all the time...Hell, we even let Siko be a member LOL

BTW today is going to be another TUFF day in Tyler... Siko are you going to get out and play? Anyone else reading this is invited as well. Come on out if you can. We'll do our best to show you a good time!

Ortho,

Sounds great!

Just want to run something by you... In the middle of October every year, our club has what we call MAD (Model Aviation Day). Basically a fun day of flying for pilots and we also put on a show for the public... to promote our hobby...It coincides with our rose festival weekend... Question, What do you think the chances are of us putting something together for a throw down for that Saturday?

That's awesome Doc! You doing a build thread somewhere? Can't wait to see what scheme you come up with for it.

ok, let me see what the guys here are doing. by the way, one of the clubs in Arkansas, southern arkansas, is having like, the biggest event ever. they have no pilot fee. they are going to give away a ton of prizes, but just to give you an idea, they are giving away a 3DHS extra 330 LX 40% (120" WS) airplane, and, they are giving away a DA 60 motor. also, they have a saturday noon time one trick contest, and the 1st place prize is: ..... yep, i believe, 500 dollars (do not quote me on this), but it is like 4 or 5 Benjamins.

it is this wednesday thru Sunday in Magnolia, Arkansas. From tyler teas to Shreveport is like 2.25 hours. then to Magnolia is like another 1.5 hours.

you may want to consider coming and then, we can all meet and introduce ourselves. all of the 4 clubs will be represented at this Magnolia event (Mag-town). (4 clubs = SHARKS, Marshall, Magnolia, and Texaraka). there is also a sister club we have, actually two, West Monroe and also the Monroe club. so all in all, we have 6 clubs that we meet every year and we all go to each others events.

Man, right in Illinois, the theoretical center so to speak, of RC. Im sure this is nothing we all haven't heard a million times before, every club has there a@@holes, and it only takes one to rest in ruin.
