48" Edge 540 Building, Flying, and Questions

The blue one came back in stock, wasn't really planning on buying one right now but I did since they always seem to be out of stock when I am in an ideal position to buy a new airframe. Looking forward to this plane, I have wanted one for over a year!

Got mine in while I was out of town for work. Supposed to rain this weeke d so I will probably start assembly then. Looks like it made the trans-Pacific journey sort of unscathed, have two broken formers in the turtle deck area. On of them I think i can reach to fix, the other is too far back so I probably won't mess with it.

I saw a landing gear modification a while back on this airframe that allows you to R&I the wire gear if needed. I cant find the post so was wondering if anyone had pictures of theirs or could describe the mod in detail?

If the out-of-reach former is looking like it is fairly intact you could try dripping some CA down a wire to get it where it needs to be. Could give a little extra peace of mind at least.

That is a good idea, I never would have thought of that. The one that is easy to reach I should be able to do just that. The other one is a different story, it was one of those deals where you take the plastic wrap off and a few little balsa pieces fall on the floor. Always a bad sign.

Started building mine last night. i fished some flat carbon fiber strips down there with dental floss and used a long tip to drip CA on them. looks kind of wack but no more flexing in the turtle deck when you squeeze the sides.

I tried to save the original formers but they were too far gone, tnis made a much stronger repair.

Hi, I really need to replace my broken Edge540. I really don't have the skills to repair it. Motor box is gone and also broken behind the canopy.

Anyone know when they will be back in stock?
