I like that color scheme on your Albatros!:way_to_go:

    Spektrum DX-20 Recall Info

I switched to Futaba last year, several of the guys I fly with use Spektrum and they have all lost planes to "loss of control". I don't care what brand I fly but from what I have seen at fly-in's and contests Futaba seems to be the most trouble free by far. It's just not worth losing a model...

Thank you John, the airplane is a model of a Lublin R-IIIXD which was a Polish observation airplane used in the 30's and it was still in service when Germany invaded Poland. I built the model to 1/4 scale which gives it a span of 132", power is a Saito FG 36 gas four stroke. It tips the scales...

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's a Mustang wing, the kink in the leading edge gives it away. Right?

IMAC PAU Extra Build 105" assembly

Rusty, My Edge 540V3 is right at 40% scale, and it's going to be more of a scale model than an IMAC model. The outline will be as close as I can get it to the real plane, no deviations to make it fly better. I am planning on competing in scale contests with it as well as flying some IMAC stuff...

IMAC PAU Extra Build 105" assembly

That is a beautiful scheme that Pete McLeod has, I have never seen that one. I am currently scratch building Martin Sonka's Edge 540V3 that he is racing in the Red Bull series. I just fell in love with airplane when the wife & I went to the Indianapolis air race last year. I gotta have one!

IMAC PAU Extra Build 105" assembly

Thank you Rusty, I have always enjoyed building but as I get older the building part of this hobby seems to be even more enjoyable.

IMAC PAU Extra Build 105" assembly

Rusty 73, It sounds like you have a better linkage set-up than I do, I did end up with a tiny amount of "slop" in my elevator. I am counting on the fact that I made my hinge line an enclosed pocket instead of the big bevel hinge line which gives you a huge angle of control throw. Also I tapered...

IMAC PAU Extra Build 105" assembly

Your Extra is looking good! I also have a big aversion to putting servos back in the tail. Since I am a scale guy at heart and am completely new to IMAC I just had to make a change to my PAU for the tail servos. With a scale model you have to stuff everything as far forward as you can and then...

    Scale Ambrosini SS-4

Not to worry Doc, I am very careful to take my meds as prescribed! I have been spending my spare time on this, the secret IMAC/scale project. I have always thought that the Edge 540 V3 that Martin Sonka flies is a beautiful airplane. After seeing it in person at the Indianapolis Red Bull air...

    Hello from Ohio

Hello FlyFreak, welcome to GSN! What do you build & fly? Scale, IMAC, 3D? :welcome:

    Howdy from Wisconsin!

As for an engine I would just go with a good old OS .65 glow, it's a simple reliable engine. And I would stay away from electric retracts, I have a 1/4 scale Bf-109E-4 that I tried Down & Locked electric gear in. After 3 times of having the gear worked on by D&L and 2 nice gear up landings I...

    Howdy from Wisconsin!

I would start your build thread in the "Scratch & Kit scale" section, it definitely does not have to be giant scale to be posted on this forum! If you have an older Pica Focke-Wulf FW-190D then by all means, start gluing those sticks together, that is a great flying model.
