    Scale Pitts S1-T, S1-S, and a Challenger.

Interesting, its a totally different method of assembly than with the 46% EMHW S1-S... looks good though, what scale is this one you're building now? John M,

    Scale Pitts S1-T, S1-S, and a Challenger.

Wow, started building the Challenger already; great!... you should be able to build this one with your eyes closed, lol. Shop looks nice Ace; you even installed pre-finished hard wood flooring to boot... adds a nice finishing touch and with great contrast with the walls / ceiling... the...

Altitude: how it affects fuel/air ratio

I believe on the gasser walbro type carbs, there is an atmospheric vent on the cover of the fuel regulator diaphragm, which should compensate as the atmosphere pressure changes with altitude once you set the air/furl ratio at ground level... granted, I couldn't tell to what degree it will...

    Scale Pitts S1-T, S1-S, and a Challenger.

Ok, well they're very similar... that one example I showed above, they want about $5k installed & painted, but that's with the fancy sky lights, roof turbines, and the big double doors... not a bad price if you don't have the time or the experience; or the drive for that matter to build it from...

    Scale Pitts S1-T, S1-S, and a Challenger.

This is an example of what I was thinking of; 10 x 16, or 10 x 18 interior... would be just the right size for a build / shop for my backyard without taking away too much space.

    Scale Pitts S1-T, S1-S, and a Challenger.

I had thought about doing something like that Ace... out here we have the "Tuff Sheds"... they make some incredible looking per-fabbed sheds with double pane windows and well insulated... great selection of sizes and decor... they even make pre-fabbed garages... I was quite impressed with the...

    Scale Pitts S1-T, S1-S, and a Challenger.

Thanks Jeff... well I understand they need to pay the rent, but that's just a bit excessive I try to make light of things where I can... we have a guy at our field that recently stuck in his giant extra 300... he use to always complain about loading and unloading it from his vehicle... I said...

    Scale Pitts S1-T, S1-S, and a Challenger.

I just replied to your other thread on RCU... raising the cylinder head temp will help a bit, but the smoke oil is vaporizing in the exhaust system, not inside the the cylinders, so raising the engine operating temp of the actually cylinders will help to move more heat into the exhaust, but you...

    Scale Pitts S1-T, S1-S, and a Challenger.

I wouldn't reduce the exit opening, as that may increase the pressure buildup inside the cowl... if you have to, reduce the intake openings, or put some sort of plate with holes in it that restricts the amount of airflow through and around the cylinders... how cool is it running, below 280...

Shhhh don't tell anyone I'm here... Hehe, I found you guys Ace / Jeff... glad I found you, it was getting a little tight over there squeezing in between all those billboards, even though mine were blank  Ace is the go to guy for anything Pitts related, outstanding model making to...

Bump! Any news on this build? John M,

Am I unlucky or to picky?

I think anyone who has purchased an ARF has gone through something similar to you jymz... I purchased a H9 Super Cub that was damaged during shipping; both wings were crushed... which of course wasn't the fault of Horizon Hobby... but there were a number of peskyquality issues that caught my...

    2-stroke oil,what works,what doesn't

I may have to try the Redline... coming from the automotive industry, I've always used Valvoline oils... for my RC gas engines, I use the Valvoline Multi-Purpose 2 Cycle Oil, and I only run 4 strokes, Saito, OS... at 20:1. there's very little if any smoke, no unusual build-up, just your typical...

Giant Scale Axel Oil anyone make the stuff?

For years I've used "MG Chemicals Translucent Silicone Grease", and never had any issues... compatible with most plastics... but when I can, I convert my wheels to sealed bearings.   This stuff looks interesting, may keep the squeaks away...
