What kind of covering does aerobeez use

I think it's oracover, or at least that is what it looks like...

FYI the wing measurement came out to 89.5 with SFG on. The box said 88 for some reason, and Aerobeez lists it as 90 on their site, which seems correct to me.

Gluing the rudder on tonight, then I'm going to get weight check with the plane fully assembled, no fuel tank, but with cowl on, and control linkages on the control horns. This will allow those concerned about weight to get a very accurate amount of the plane pre- engine/motor/gear.

So while I think this firewall looks plenty strong, and should hold up fine... I'm thinking I might reinforce it anyway... Thoughts?

I've got a couple of L brackets I can cannibalize:

It looks pretty good to me.

All I would do is brush aero-poxy anywhere there is an intersection or a tab-lock. Maybe some carbon fiber or fiber glass cloth and resin on the corners. adds strength and aesthetics... :p

That sounds like a good suggestion... I really think it's fine as designed, just wanted to make sure.

HOLY CRAP! 9.94 lbs without electronics and motor.... whoa this plane should be pretty light! Only thing installed is the wolverine switch.

I figure:

90g per servo, arm, extension and clip (1lb for servos)
3 lbs for motor, standoffs, and receiver
3.75 lbs for batteries, wires & straps.

She should be about 17.5 - 17.75 lbs fully loaded on electric power.

For comparison, about 3.5 lbs for DLE-55RA gas engine, and another 1.25 lb for 16 oz of fuel, tank and lines.

So my guess would be about 15.75 - 16lbs.

She's a light one fellas!

Aerobeez stayed true to their word. They shipped me a Red one today. Pretty stand up company.

I am sure I will order parts and accessories from them now.

I will compare it to my other 3DHS and EF 60cc planes and report back.

I have a lot of motor choices to sort through. Lots of options in this size.

Got the amazingly beautiful standoffs from www.customstandoffs.com installed.

Craig did a great job with them, and tapped both sides so I didn't have to use a supper long bolt.

Put the motor on for some test fitting, looks awesome!

Looks like a perfect 2mm gap to me!

Decided to reduce any possible failure points, so I soldered the ESC directly to the motor, and the series connectors directly to the power input.
