Sounds like a plan.

yes, but you could always buy the gas one and then just run electric. The EF gas planes are nice because they still have a quick release hatch pin. They just use two of em. So battery changes are still quite easy on it.

Shoot, that's a chunk of change you saved Rog! Aside from the DA in the 91, how are you going to outfit the planes?

The 91" will be da60 on re2 pipe, bls157 all around.
The 88" edge on hacker q80-8s and 12s5000 all hitec 7957 around on the edge 7950 on rudder.
MXS, either the torque v2 or motrolfy on 6s and hitec 7245

All these will be on hv, the 91" on 2s 3000 lipos, the others on castle Bec and Bec pro for the 88".

Impressive Rog, very impressive!
Would love to follow with you on the builds. I've always wanted that 88" Edge, but it never happened.
Those setups sound killer, the 7245s in the MXS are amazing, I love them!

I will be doing a full write up for the electric edge, I am amazed at hw damn big it is compared to the pilotrc 87" Sbach I had last year.

Those new exp elevators on the big edge are HUGE!

Big Roger,

If you need some custom standoffs for that Q80 let me know ;)

Shipping was around $13 on the last set I sent over there.

Thanks Craig.

I'll let you know once I get to the edge.

Firstly gotta get the 91" up and gassing, but nervous as my first gasser but I'm pretty well sorted thanks to here and GiantScaleNews for kit.

I had DA 2.5" on the q80 previously on the 87" Sbach, but the cowl on the 88" edge is heaps huge mungous.

Dude that's so sick you got a 91'' Extra AND 88'' Edge!

I wish i could have ONE of those planes. I'm sure you'll have no problems with your first gasser, you'll have lots of fun with all the flight time :) I got a 15 minute flight today on my 78'' Extra and had around 1/4 tank left.

After i get a 60'' plane my next goal is a 50cc. By that time i'm sure the DA70 and 91'' Yak will be out too making my decisions all the harder :D

I finally maidened my MXS this evening, IN THE RAIN. wasn't none too pleased with the way it handled. Im hope'n that it was the servos. as far as just flying around it was OK. but harrier was a freakin hand full, as was landing and im pretty spot on when it comes to landing. to keep a straight harrier I had to give around 3/4 left stick, my other planes jump a bump of right stick. even at that it was very squirrely, unstable and unpredictable. I was flying nose heavy as I do on all maidens and first 15 flights or so. there is some play on the control surfaces when I try to move them by hand. elevator at center had no play but toward end of throws each way there was quite abit of play. ailerons seem to have alil at center. im gonna get some new servos and try them out. I really hope that's the problem.

the only other 3d I really tried was to hover and a few rollers. hover was pretty easy but I didn't have to be on the sticks all that much. rollers pretty much sucked but I usually have to get used to and really dial in the plane before mine look decent on those. did try a couple elevators but even with extreme throws they didn't drop too much like they should have. idk just hope'n its the servos. kinda sucks, wish my noobular self had somebody I could go to

Joe, that video of Daniel hammering the crap out of the 91" extra looks insane.

I wonder if he used a 24x10 size or proped up with the bigger motor?

Yeah i saw that video, amazing stuff. The DA 70 looks pretty sick.

No sure what prop he had on it but it hauled the plane nicely.
