Ultimate Bipe Assembly

Hey folks. Acquired a still in box GP Ultimate from @ChickenBalls a while back and since it already was taking up space in my shop as a giant box I decided it would be better to take up space in the form it wants to be, an awesome Bipe.:fist_pump:So here is my first attempt at a build thread. Please be patient in that my time to do builds is limited so this may take awhile. I also know this is no longer an airframe produced by GP and is somewhat old school but I thought some of us " old timers" would get a kick out of it and maybe the "young bucks" can get a laugh out of how stuff just a decade ago was made.:LOL_gif:

@combat chicken have a look over on RCUniverse, there is about a 1000 pages on this plane. Lots and Lots and lots of experts over there, that you'll find while reading the thread, suggestions of replacing this and that(some say replace everything), take it with a grain of salt. Mines factory(other than the gear), only thing I wish I had done was pin the firewall ( we went over that the other day) The flying wires are a little annoying. On the gear, I'd try what's in the box, replacing mine was a suggestion from Mick, but looking at the extra gear I'm using, it looks to be made of the same material as the factory. If you do replace gear, holler at me, and I'll get you a part #. If your gonna do full throttle snaps, I'd suggest an EXTRA strap on batteries:lol2:

Here are some pics of the unboxing!
Pretty pleased with what I found. No wrinkles on the covering at all except for one spot on the turtledeck. Hardware seemed complete. Nice looking cowl. Big heavy spinner!:LOL_gif:

@ChickenBalls Will do. Yep I've glanced at a couple of those already. I agree on using what is in the box. Definitely pinning the firewall for the heavy DL 50.

I remember that plane. I bought one, second hand, a couple of years ago. It even had the same original version of the DL-50. That old motor pulled the :dancing-poop: out of that plane. Not too long after I bought it, I lost my job so I had to sell it. It was a fun plane to fly. I'm interested to see what the new 60cc GP M12 will be like. ANYTHING will be an improvement over the old 50cc one.......:yesss:
