    -Description of the "3DCrawl" maneuver

    The video explains 4 simple steps,the first 3 steps are the basic maneuvers that you have to know:
    1-->Harrier
    2-->Circles using rudder
    3-->Positive climbing flat spin(else known as "Funnel Hover")

    and finally the combination of all that steps to accomplish your first 3DCrawl....

    -Definition

    The name that had been choosen is 3DCrawl because of the stunting style that the plane follows to create this maneuver.
    The plane seems to be crawling as much as in front stroke/crawl freestyle swimming.

    -What to care.....

    Don't forget to follow the reference line that you can create by trying a simple straight high alpha harrier and change spinning direction everytime the plane's wing meets that hypothetical line....

    Thank you Mr.NJSwede :D,i'll try to do my best and hope to have something more interesting to post here in the future.....
    Hope everyone likes the new maneuver that i inspired and used to have more fun at the field.....:thumbup:

    I managed to find a video with a guy trying to do the "3DCrawl" with a giant scale PAU Edge 540T.....I thing that it is 85 inch or something like that....:popcorn:

    Hi Tony,nice stuff and really good flying skills in your vid i liked it.... :)
    The 3DCrawl is a little bit difficult to go through when the plane passes in front of you and you need to keep doing the maneuver with the nose out from you.....the most important thing is to understand when the plane must change spinning direction,don't push your spins because the plane "wants" to keep spinning in the momentum of the initial direction and that makes the switching from clockwise to counterclockwise spin more difficult.Change the spin immediately when the plane's wing meets the nominal reference harrier line that i mentioned in the tutorial and of course try to keep the same altitude with the appropriate throttle response.....
    That's all i have to say for your attempt,very good for fist time,hope you enjoyed the maneuver.... ;)

    Hey Tony,many thanks for the video response,i believe that it will help the whole thing.....i will post the vid in FG and RCGroups when i find some free time,hope you have no problem.....Thanks and keep up the good work :)

    The deal with your explanation i think is the wind force....that was something that i would like to mention in the future,actually the wind gives a better stability when you are doing the 3DCrawl because of the small angle that the plane must maintain to beat the wind force in front of it and keep moving towards......with no or a little bit wind arround the field,the plane must keep a bigger angle when trying the 3DCrawl maneuver because in any other cases the plane increases exponentially its speed and then you are not able to control the model very well.....

    APPROVED
    "Actually a light wind is better as it gives resistance which gives stability.Same when learning hovering/harrier.These maneuvers are actually harder to learn with zero wind!"

    If anyone wants to try the 3DCrawl it is necessary to know the basic maneuvers(nose in/out high alpha harriers,hover spins etc....) that have been mentioned in the tutorial.I believe the appropriate model for the first attempts is a light weight depron with a good ratio of weight and power.That's perfect to achieve the lowest possible momentum for a better stability and ideal speed thats makes the control easier.....

    Avoid to do the 3DCrawl in tail wind situations,cause of the unnecessary effects in the model's speed that i mentioned above....

    For historical reasons i'd like to mention that this maneuver took its name accidentally when a neighbor of mine watched me doing an early-prototype version of 3DCrawl maneuver using a foamy Yak 55.He told me that the plane seems to be crawling like a swimmer in the pool....:cool:
    That inspired me to do various permutations counted on the basic style of flying for a lot of hours.....
    I was actually trying to put in test climbing spin combinations in many different directions,untill i realised that something is going to be borned here.
    So there it is.....

    Hope many people have good time with the 3DCrawl as i do..after this long period from the last summer that i demonstrated this maneuver for the first time,i have to say that it is not as easy as it seems.....i believe that i need a lot of personal practise till the perfection of 3DCrawl,so i could be able to have a chance with a bigger airframe that would be more difficult,but most impresive.....:eek:

    Many wishes for having fun and safe flights from Greece!!!! :D

    Thanks for reading.

    Well Tony I would say don't listen to anyone that critiques with negative comments! Just fly and have fun...

    You're a better pilot than I, but I know that doesn't say much. :)
