Ok, first thanks to Kole and Limitless Aero for bringing these awesome planes into the US for us all to enjoy.

I bought mine from Kole, and met him in Houston on his way to Joe Nall to pick it up!

Once home, I couldn't wait to unbox and check it out. First, the coffin-like container protected everything perfectly:

The wings and stabs are really nice, and both have oversized control surfaces which will be tons of fun both in low/slow as well as violent spins and tumbles:

As you can see, nice covering work, and cool magnetic racing tips. Very nicely installed canister tunnel too! I also really liked that the covering was all pre-cut, and the pre-run (and installed!) pull-pull wires and links. I've built over 40 ARFs over the last two years, this is a first.

The cowl is a work of art. 'Nuff said.

There is no cheap stuff to be found in the hardware package. Nice multi-engine cutout templates, and all turnbuckle ball links and g10 horns. Even the wheel pants are sturdy and robust, and should easily survive flying off grass fields.

Finally, two other "above and beyond" stuff on this plane. First, high quality phonelic plate on the stabs for increased life and rigidity, and second the painted aircraft name on the canopy & vinyl on the fuse.

You should give some thought to it Jacob, it seems to be top-tier design and quality.

For my hardware and components, I'm going with the following gear:

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1400207427.443577.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1400207435.672266.jpg

GP-61 Engine from Limitless Aero
Savox SC-1268SG Servos (.11 sec and 347.2 oz/in on 7.4v)
@3drcparts.com servo extensions
@WrongWayRc 16.9 oz 3-line fuel tank
@Aztech Aeromodels spot-on rc & secraft arms/turnbuckles

Spektrum AR9110 Powersafe DSMX Rx and TM1000 Telemetry Tx for RPM/Rx Voltage

Following the instructions on the Aeroplus website, I started with the landing gear and assembled per the manual. Only thing different was it took 3 spacers on the outside and one inside to center correctly, but the kit includes 4 per side to we're good.

I'm also interested to see how the plastic hub 3" gear holds up. Nearly every other 50cc and larger plane I've built had larger diameter wheels, and almost all had aluminum hubs as well.

Next, on to the stabs (again, in order of the manual). Nice phonelic arms are included, but no alignment plate like I've seen on other ARFs. Either way, I did my formal masking of the area and removal of the covering. They came out nice...

(The plate I'm talking about)

Oh yeah, some nice attention to detail to point out. They even painted the attachment nubs to match the covering!

Very impressive looking kit Gary. But I'm almost as impressed that you've built 40 ARFs in the past 2 years. I'm only 39 behind you. :eek:

Don't let Gary fool you...he's actually a machine. ;)

oh yeah, and I don't think he sleeps.

Mike, I know for a fact you sleep less than I do! :p

Yeah, it's been a busy, but very rewarding few years. I love assembling the planes almost as much as flying, so it makes this part of the hobby a lot of fun!

Got a little more work done over the last few days. It's so nice to work on an airplane with no hinges to glue, that still has extreme 3D throws!

Next up is the rudder and tail wheel.
Nothing complicate with the wheel, it goes together like every other 50cc size plane we've done... Also really simple to install the control horns, and put the hinge pin in.

Went with the pre-setup pull-pull links on the rudder side, and some nice Secraft adjustable turnbuckles on the rudder servo side. I also appreciated the wires were longer than necessary. It's nice to have some slack to work with, seems to make threading things easier.

Also took some time to install the aileron servos, and run the elevator servo extensions back to the tail. Here is where there is a little room for improvement: I'd like to see a cardboard or fiberglass routing tube down the side of the fuse, it makes things much nicer inside. To protect the wires, I used some snakeskin wrap.

Forgot to post it earlier, but installing the landing gear was a piece of cake. Very easy access to the oversize and beefy landing gear L brackets. Simple work for the wrench to tighten down the bolts. I did add some washers on both sides here, just for some piece of mind.

Next up for tonight, installing the engine, electronics, and cutting the cowl.

subbed! I really like this plane and with the projected weight, I have no doubt a DLE 55 could haul it around with ease. It looks like it's gonna be a floater! I'm stoked to see how this airplane flies!!!
