3D A Red Aero RC 108 Corvus is born!

Assembling this for a good flying buddy of mine. It started life being in a box, sheltered from the day light. Now it is sitting in my basement, on its wheels, awaiting a heart for guidance, and lungs for propulsion.

Equipment is as follows.......

DA 120 with 70mm drop headers and MTW TD110's. The TD 110's will not restrict the performance of the DA 120 at all, unlike what a ProFlow or TD 75's would. Honestly, the RE-2, KS 1060, or WrongWay RC tuned pipes would really wake up this engine. But, I'll install what the owner wishes. ;)

Futaba Rx with SmartFly PE that mounts to the Rx.

Futaba 9157's

FromeCo 5200's

TechAero ign kill

Falcon prop.

Yep, that is a VBar flybarless controller, just laying in the fuse. Just a joke pic, thats all!

More.

In the last pic, you'll see some FG cloth on the upper outside corners. I did that for a little reason. With the DA 120 on the front, and the possibility of it shaking, I need all the reinforcement I can get. I'll be doing this as well to my new 108" Corvus, and incorporating it on my EG 108" 330SC.

Just opened up the canister mounting package that EG sends with the Corvus. Guess what! There is a 70mm canister mounting plate included! That will make my install of these TD 110's so much easier! The hardware package that is included is exceptional! I'm glad that they do not include servo horns in the kit any longer. Far to easy to use a large wheel on your servo, and mount the arms and go! This way, the assembler/owner etc can use their discretion on servo horns. :)

I would highly recommend getting a Corvus. 2 reasons.... 1.) It is a different style of airframe. Not like your typical Extra, Edge, Yak or Slick. 2.) They fly friggin great!! I get to fly another 108" in 'Nooga, at the 3D Jam in 3 weeks!

As much as I want to I cannot. I have too many planes as it is and too many builds already lined up. It doesn't mean it won't happen, it just might take a couple years. (or one real bad one)

I thought my year to start, was gonna suck...... Even my "go to" let me down. So, I've got a new "go to"! And right now, my new "go to" is still in a box, in FL.......

Bunky,

The pic showing the motor box with FG on it, what are the 3 screws driven into? They aren't driven into front ply of the motor box, so what's behind the front ply?

Uh,, I can answer that! There are aluminum angle pieces joining the firewall and 'motor box' sides. There are also screws on the face of the firewall doing the same. ;)
