    Discussion Choosing an air frame----frustrations!

I would recommend the Precision Aerobatics Katana MX (57") or the XR-61. Those planes both fly great and they make an XR-52 that I would also recommend.

    noob looking for advice

I would go with the Katana Mini or MD. I had the Katana MX and I learned 3D on that for 3 years with over 1500 flights on it. After the fire wall finally broke down, I didn't hesitate to get a new one. That series of planes fly insanely well and are really good for learning 3D.

Very true. The solder shouldn't be too hard so I'd try it and if it doesn't work, call in and see if you can get a replacement for the transmitter.

3DNater is right about using an OEM antenna. However, I believe with Taranis radios, you void the warranties once you start soldering. If you haven't already started, I would suggest sending it back to the factory. My friend did that when his JR 9503 had a broken gimbal and they fixed it up for...

I'm in the process of building a new one right now so I should have some videos out sometime within this month. It'll take a little longer because on Sunday I'm going all the way to AMA headquarters for Camp AMA and XFC! Anyone gonna be there?

Hah! I think I'm twelve...yea I'm pretty sure about that lol. Thanks dude! At the time I flew that plane, I was still getting used to it. Now I'm already touching the tail in hovers and am way lower when I do harrier rolls. However, I think I still l still prefer my Katana MX and XR-52. The...

    New Here? Introduce yourself!

Hey guys, excited to meet all of you! I fly a Katana MX and an XR-52 at Santa Clara County Model Aircraft Skypark (other wise known as Tomcats)! I've found that PA planes fly the best when it comes to 3D flying under 60". For all the new guys out there that are looking to get better at 3D, I'd...

    The High speed Rolling Circle

The rolling circle is a classic sport flying maneuver that everyone would recognize. The high speed rolling circle brings this maneuver to the next level. When in the maneuver the plane is always at full throttle, which is what makes this maneuver so hard. Your roll rate is so fast, but to keep...

    The rolling corkscrew

This maneuver is a combination of doing a rolling harrier and a corkscrew. The throttle used varies on which plane you use but on most it's 100%. You enter it by gaining altitude and pointing the nose straight down. You start rolling as soon as the nose is pointing down, then you start doing...

IMAC learning and support using flight videos

For iMac flying I suggest getting something by Precision Aerobatics. They combine carbon fiber fusion and laser cut plywood to make their airplanes amazing with light hardcore 3D maneuvers. However, the design of their airframes makes them able to track in perfectly straight lines and be one of...
