Frank Tiano, Candidate for AMA President

And the Town Crier has found another street corner on which to blow his horn!! Funny how you attacked me on the other street corner for calling the AMA membership apathetic!! Are you going to use a different playbook here, or just more of the same? Regards, Astro

Got the P-47 on her feet today to check wheel/gear alignment before mounting the gear fairings/gear doors. All checked out good, so I went to town until....broke the 4-40 tap in the gear leg!!!! Don't think I'll bother trying to extract it, as it is in a spot that won't show. I'll just move...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Every DA I have purchased has been supplied with the power pole plugs. Wvery DA I have purchased has had the PP cut off and a regular servo plug added! Seen too many PP's fail! Problem with the PP's is there is no strain relief on the wire where it exits the housing and the vibrations...

Here's the reinforcements that I did on the forward fuse section of the P-47. A few strips of 2" Carbon Fiber followed by a layer of light fiberglass from the first former to the firewall (just in case I have to perform any gear-up landings!).

It is one of the simplest ways I've seen to slide a canopy. Nothing complicated at all, if you have the room.

    Su-26M

Yep, that was the first production PAU 50 cc Sukhoi! GREAT flying plane! It was my first round-cowl plane, so it was a bit different than the Edges and Extras that I was used to at the time, but it was an absolute BLAST to fly! I finally sold it a couple of years ago with many hundreds of...

Petitioning AMA members for separation from drones

I have to ask you this. DOES IT MATTER? you can try and debunk all the sightings that the FAA claimed (BTW, I tend to think that at least SOME of the reported sightings lacked credibility and the number of them was probably inflated), but what REALLY matters is that there are PLENTY of drones...

Petitioning AMA members for separation from drones

I've never said that the traditional guys had never done anything stupid. STOP using that as a counterpoint from a droners standpoint. NEVER ONCE have I seen a traditional model make the six o'clock news! Drones on the other hand, are featured nightly! BIG DIFFERENCE my friend! You see, I...

Petitioning AMA members for separation from drones

UMMM....this is why I send my due$ to the AMA each year. Their voice SHOULD be much louder than mine when it comes to the FAA. THIS IS WHY WE PAY THE AMA!!!!!! (I am sure a professional, that we HIRED to perform these duties, will be able to voice it in a much more intelligent way than I ever...

Petitioning AMA members for separation from drones

The FAA has admitted in the past that they have (had) no intention of regulating "traditional" modeling activities. They obviously (at one point) saw the same distinction that we are continuing to advocate for. I understand that you make your living flying drones, and that you may have more...

Petitioning AMA members for separation from drones

UMMM...NEWS FLASH.........the FAA ALREADY THREW THE AMA UNDER THE BUS! That is some weird logic.....Don't ask the AMA to advocate for their membership because they may look bad to the FAA? REALLY?? I fully expect to have to register....no big deal....until the FAA realizes (they may already...
