    TransAsia flight crashes

I see now engine flameout is being suspected...makes sense in a twin right at takeoff power. Yikes that is awful.

    TransAsia flight crashes

I saw that this morning and was stunned and horrified. Looking at the video - both props are still spinning, although who knows if one is feathered out... surfaces didn't look deflected... stall is the only thing I can think of. Any speculation yet?

Oh man, what happened, you guys? Sorry to see both of these happen, big time bummer.

Wait - that clip is installed wrong. You gotta put the "ears" vertical - if you have them sideways the clip can come out at RPM. I'm guessing that is probably why yours failed, it was horizontal and fatigue cracked. Back in my MX racing days, it was tribal knowledge to never put a circlip in...

Cool Gyro, I was wondering about those. The stock wing bolts are even more fun to fish out of the bottom of the fuselage after I fat-finger one and drop it down in there.

It just makes me timid to fly low with my much loved 3DHS planes - at least that's the excuse I'm gonna use ! :-)

    72" Extra 330SC

Why is it that 3DHS is always out of stock on parts? As a manufacturer myself, I don't understand why - I know the obvious answer would be to sell more new planes vs. parts, but that's not really very cool, so I hope that's not it. This is a sport where parts would sell too, and with better...

Interesting! Thanks for posting that -

OK silly question: How does the firewall move? That's pretty cool. Can you post a pic of how they pull that off? I've never seen that before. Thanks !

Bummer! well the bright side is they'll definitely take the torque when done!

See if you can get them to torque down first - you might get lucky where they aren't stripped enough to spin. Helicoils are not tough to put in, compared to building and flying a plane. You can do it! We have confidence in you!!! :D

That's what I thought I read somewhere but couldn't track it down. I know the old rcexl ignitions were not happy with 2S, glad they changed that. So it's the red version of the redwing power board - nice and simple.

Gyro, I checked those out, thanks for sharing that link. I'm stuck between the red one and the yellow one. Since my servos will be HV I shouldn't need to turn down the voltage from 2S lipo for them - So that makes me think Red version would be OK. But maybe the yellow one just to not have...

    91" Extra 300-EXP ARF

Oh man, that is brutal. I did a similar integrity test to a slick when it got into an argument with some power lines. The power lines won. I'll bet it was flying perfectly too. (my slick was - which really made me mad!) Sorry to see that pic. Did you buy another one yet, or ?

    91" Extra 300-EXP ARF

Thanks for posting that Gyro - I didn't know Redwing was making any boards. The 9110 rx has been sold out forever, and I'd prefer to run that for the simplicity. But since I can't find one, it looks like a power expander is my option! I'd think 5 big Savox servos could overload a standard...

    91" Extra 300-EXP ARF

Woohoo - plane showed up today! By truck! I was a bit horrified when it was cinched down to the side of the truck with a come along, and the cowl box was bashed in. No damage - this is the sturdiest box job I've ever seen from China. So quick question for you guys flying this plane. I...
