Just curious as I have a NGH 38cc sitting on a shelf and it seems the only thing it will fit is some small military airframes. I have read they run really well and would like to try it out but not a small warbird kind of guy.
I have had a couple of small warbirds a while back. One thing I found out fast small war birds are always over weight and difficult to fly. If I built another war bird it will at least 90 inch wingspan.

Looking good Snoop, I would add the extra bracing.
Just for shits and giggles, anyone have a clue as to what size wingspan this would need to be for a 38cc four stroke?

Scale it up to 70-72" span should work well for something in the 30cc range. The 55cc version I built had a 80" span and was perfect. Honestly the 80" would probably fly just fine and still have good power on a 30-40cc just more fun to have ballistic power.

The aileron is built and sanded, it is a lot lighter but it took a little work. It is 3/8 thick at the leading edge and just under 3/16 at the trailing edge. Do not know if I will add the missing diagonal brace it just looks like I needs to be there.

Looks great. Yes add the extra bracing. Flat plate surfaces of this size can really start to flex and twist a lot under load.

The wing is all set up just have to do a final check to see that everything is straight and square.

For some reason I have a small lift in one corner. Will have to work on that, hopefully when the sheeting is done I can remove that. Only part that concern’s me if 1/16 sheeting has enough strength to remove the small lift in one corner.

Making progress slowly the leading edge sheeting is on, just have to wait a while for the wood glue to dry then I can finish off the centre sheeting.
Was planning to install the ignition into the leading edge of the wing but after thinking about it for a while decided not to do it. Just to much work.
