Did some glider towing this morning with the timber. Wow where we impressed with the little ASK-21 glider. My buddy released and fell right into lift and kept it up for well over a minute. Few more flights then he caught some good air and had it up for close to 5 minutes. Little timber towed it well too. Basically great fun was had today.

A friend of mine made a rc glider out of a cheap hand thrown Walmart non rc foamie. On the test flight they towed it with a foamie cub and right before release the battery pack came untaped from the glider and became a dangler. It was an exciting few seconds of loops and rolls from both planes until they got it released. ;)

Got to the field for the first time in a while. Well I have not been to the field for a while and nobody else. The grass was long thick and a little wet about 6 inch tall. So had to get the mower out and 4 hours later it looked half decent. Had to mow the field 2 times and some places 3 times and to just gut up the grass and spread the grass around. But it is done and all looks good again. Got 2 flights in and enjoyed it a lot but it started to rain so packed up and whet home the important thing was I got 2 good flights in. Cannot weight for the next time back to the field. Just which that some of the members would do just a little maintenance it would be nice.

Got in a few flights on the Cub at the Scale Fly In. New engine was the trick for this heavy and high wing loaded Cub. The DLE35 pulled it very well :) . Windy (10-20mph) but right down the runway. Knocked the Cub around a bit in the air but I was able to get some fun "one wheel" touch and go's in. I think an Aura 8 is in order for it to help smooth out the affects of the high wing loading.
Lots of really nice jets including a turbine glider which seemed faster and more maneuverable than the other jets o_O.
There was a DA60 powered WACO ARF (Phoenix Models) that flew great and seemed to be a real "floater" for a 23 pounder.

Had some good weather this weekend.

Question. Is it me or is it more difficult to do a knife edge wall with this airframe. I can do it super easy with an Edge 540, but for some reason my 73" laser is more temperamental, meaning it will roll out unless the airspeed, attitude, and deflection is more precise. Are you finding this to be true as well with a laser? Maybe it's just my CG...

Does it just fine. Usually it's a mechanical setup that causes this.

Wanted to get out this weekend but it looks like a repeat of last summer :(. This Holiday weekend saw some record high temps down here. Triple digit heat :ugh:. Since the days are long I thought I could get some comfort flying done in the evening....NOT :face-palm:.
