Scale Building a Bulldog II

Boy o boy, I went and did it now. I was just thinking of getting some things laid out now that the table is empty. Whilst I was setting all the balsa and ply out I was thinking about the only part that I don't much like in a build, cutting all this lumber on a bandsaw. Sooo, I went and ordered something I have been wanting for some time now. I will wait for it's arrival next week to go any further. See pic.

That workbench is nice! What's the top surface comprised of?
I am liking them. The table has a 2x4 based frame with cross supports, then 3/4" plywood screwed on top, and capped with 16 gauge galvanized sheet metal.

I have the same saw (and his disc sander). Awesome tools, they will last for eons. Very well made and precise.

Ok guys, here is the scoop. I just can't stand the idea of putting a two stroke in this build and was talking with Andres about how big I would have to go to fit the engine. But, whilst I was trying to grasp the severity of the situation, I was thinking based on other Pitts I have and have had I just could not understand why this engine would not fit. It should!!!!
So I commenced to searching pics, measuring, comparing, etc. etc. and then as usual """""""" the light came on. Basically I had this designed around an artist rendition and it was wrong!!! The fuse is designed flat on the sides with an ever so slightly taper in, the full scale does not do this, taper in. I shot a good pic onto the wall and came up with a nose width, and fortunately it more than accommodates this engine. So two great things came out of today, one is I can use this engine, and two being I learned before gluing anything that it was off. Woo Hoo!!

That a relief so 140 will go into this plane now. That saves a lot of headache but that 4 cylinder 3W would have been a nice engine too. And you have to agree even though it is a two stroke a four does have a nice sound and they are quite.

I was admiring a DA 200 yesterday at the field, it definitely had a better sound. But it was a far cry from a four stroke, in my opinion anyway.
The table saw will be here by end of Friday or sooner according to Byrnes. I had to order another roll of paper as that last tracing was the end of mine, also scheduled by end of Friday. I will redraw the fuse layout to include the correct nose size and make adjustments accordingly. Should not be that big of a deal.
