Restraint holding our planes needs to be tight or bad things happen. I am very good about making sure it's tight, except for today. I got distracted waiting on my turn to fly and paid the price.

Dang it buddy, I am so sorry. That really bites. (no pun intended) I am thankful you didn't lose any digits though. I have seen fellas lose a complete finger or fingers. One guy at a previous field I used to fly at took over 70 stiches in his arm when his electric plane took off without him realizing it. This is why I am such a "HUGE" advocate of "Kill" switches on "EVERYTHING"! Electric, Nitro....and gas. Without it, a guy is just asking for the instant removal of vital bodily appendages. Hang in there.

The weather today was so picture perfect it was almost unbelievable. 71 degrees, no wind..maybe a gust to 5, but mostly calm. Plenty of blue sky and lots of good friends at the field. One of my friends had his Phoenix Models A26 out today. 95" of flying fun. He has two O.S. AX55's on it. Man does that thing scoot. And talk about smooth as hot butter. Wow. It was a real joy watching this thing flying. I took my Baby Yakster out today to put a few laps on her. The more I fly it, (which it hasn't been much) the more I really like it. It is so hard not to like a Yak. I love doing "Pop-Tops" with this plane. When I hit it hard inverted down wind, then push her over in a negative climb then slam the sticks...she will pirouette around so fast then stop so abruptly it is just cool to watch. And of course I just had to see just how low I could get her down to the runway. I think I actually just barely missed "baby bumping" the rudder. I stayed until about 5 this afternoon. Dang, I hated leaving today. It was so welcomed from the last few weeks of burning the candle at both ends.

Ugh. That’s sucks brother. :(

Exact thing happen to one of our local club members back in May when he was doing a test and tune at home. He lost the tip of his right hand middle finger almost down to the first joint. The thing that really upset him is he had a glove sitting there and forgot to put it on for that start.

Hope you have a full and speedy recovery. Until then, keep it iced down with lots of IPA.

Damn dude that sucks. Hope you heal fast. I agree with Stang on the kill switch on everything. Always end up explaining to someone at the field when I let them fly one of my electric planes and their first response is the throttle isn't working. I tell them to flip the kill switch above the throttle stick and they will ask why I put a kill switch on an electric plane.
