FROM: Horizon Hobby
The Evolution® 125GX, 125cc twin-cylinder gasoline engine is ideal for 100cc- to 125cc-class airframes. Precision manufacturing with high-quality materials allows this engine to offer years of maintenance-free operation. Its standard dimensions make it possible to drop this impressive twin into extreme aerobatic performance airplanes such as the Hangar 9® Extra 300X 120cc ARF.
Beautiful from prop hub to backplate bolt, the CNC-machined crankcase features tight-tolerances and a stunning natural finish. A genuine Walbro® carburetor provides a premium-level of reliability and optimum performance.
The dual ball bearing cantilevered crankshaft helps keep engine operation smooth. The engine mount, muffler and propeller bolt patterns match a host of other popular engines in its class which means it will easily accept a wide range of aftermarket accessory solutions. The included 2S LiPo compatible ignition allows you to fit a variety of power options. I like 'em "BIG"!
Not sure I am willing to part with $1,000.00 for a Asian Engine with a DA price tag then spend another $138.00 for exhaust. For an un-proven engine that is only rated at 7000 rpm with a price tag equal to a DA, not a sound investment at this time in my opinion. A proven and reliable DLE 120 for about half that price "WITH" exhaust seems like a much better option.

I can see that, I love DLE, and i choose them over DA any day, but i would love to get my hands on one of these and see how it truly performs. Ive had the smaller Evolution gas engines, i was pleased with the weight and size.

I'd venture a guess that they are being conservative on the rpm ratings and performance. Normally, "ANY" 120cc class engine will swing a 29x9 or 28x10 at nearly 6500 or more. I'd be willing to test one if given a chance. What's the worst that can happen? LOL....

That prefrence is made soaly on the bang for your buck. A dle120 is what, like 740 or so and a da120 1200 bucks. Could almost buy two for the price of one and have 2 planes with engines. Now im not knocking da by any means, they are great engines, but spec to price wise on a dle to a da, id just have to choose dle. Now if i had unlimited amount of cash or was given one, i wouldnt turn it down haha. But given my standings, dle all the way

I would choose 3W any day and would assume that or DA would be most anyone's preferred choice. Surprised to see DLE 'preferred'over DA.
I do agree...I would prefer 3w any day of the week over any engine. But comparatively speaking in the economy class I think DLE wins hands down. I would be a hard one to convince the quality and longevity of the new Evolution would be in the DA or 3w class. That being said, with Towers super savers coupons, a guy can get a brand new DLE 120 to the door for under 500 bucks. And at the thousand dollar price tag offer for the Evolution, why not go with a GP 123? I've seen some pretty impressive numbers with the 123. Unlimited funds, 3w all the way. Economically minded, GP 123...conservatively budget minded...DLE 120 or BE 124.

You cant beat the way a da runs and there service you can gamble your 1000 doller airframe to cheaper Chinese or other engine but all it takes is that one deadstick and you rip the gear out your plane is never the same so how much did you really save
