Who's Up For a 3D Printing Challenge?

After shopping for a new incidence meter I've come to the conclusion they're all overpriced crap. So who wants to design and print parts to convert one of these, a light to medium duty quick clamp,

https://www.amazon.com/Irwin-Quick-518QCN-Handed-Spreader/dp/B0761J2HVR

so that it can be clamped to a wing?

After that you strap on one of these
https://www.amazon.com/Tacklife-MDP...=8-2-spons&keywords=digital+angle+gauge&psc=1

and it's a digital incidence meter.

The blocks would need to have a V in the front and the right shape in the back to slide onto the clamp faces in place of the pads. Do that, and you can sell them in the classifieds here, there, wherever and I'll buy the first set.

Anybody?

Or maybe I'll do a prototype this week with wood blocks and you guys can just copy it. I'll hit Lowes tomorrow for a clamp.

I went looking for a quick clamp but the ones with the wider spread were too heavy duty to clamp to a wing so I made my own V fittings to mount the digital level to the wing.

The digital level/protractor came from Amazon for $18
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0721M4V7S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The tubing is 3/8" aluminum with two flat head screws for the magnets in the level to attach to. A better material might be an 18" square towel bar from home depot, the cheapo ones are under $10 and powder coated but not magnetic so you'd still need the screw heads or a steel plate underneath.

The brackets are the parts that would be perfect for a 3D printer. The tops should be a little bit thicker so one side could be drilled and tapped for a set screw while the opposite one would be glued to the tube. If the whole thing is under $40 and you've got accuracy to the 2nd decimal place then you're way ahead of the crap Horizon is selling for $60.

Just a thought if anyone's up for it.

ooof that would take a long time to print. To design it wouldn't be that bad... I think it makes more sense to make one out of wood personally because the time spent printing that size would just take forever (I'm guessing most of the day thus it wouldn't be very cost effective to sell IMHO). Maybe I should just say too large for my abilities. Little trinkets are much much easier. Good Idea though. Keep em coming!
