Yup, been there done that. My 35% PAU Extra was a complete pig. 31 pounds on the dot. And I did zero additions. And yet my Pilot Edge with the exact carbon copy mirrored image set up came in 2.5 pounds lighter. Figure that one out. I have been on the other side of the coin with exhaust systems. Like you, I hated the noisey stock exhaust. But I am finding a new appreciation for it on some setups. I kind of like that 70 twin on the Pitts with stocks. Lol
That sounds like the difference between my 30% Pilot Edge and my Aeroworks Extra 300. Same engine, header, radio, servos, batteries, fuel tank, and even wheels. The ONLY difference was the Extra had a tuned pipe and the Edge had a can. Pilot Edge 17.5 pounds Aeroworks Extra 19.75 pounds. That's a huge difference on a 30% airplane.

All these weights we are talking about this is on 35% planes with 120cc size engines. So what would the ideal weight be ???? Lbs (or what is weight of a good 3D plane.)
And on a 30% plane with 85cc or 100cc what would the ideal weight be ???? Lbs.
What I do know is that a 25% plane with a 50cc engine must be 14 lbs and less if you can.
