That's a sharp looking aircraft :too-cool:

There is a pilot Pete McLeod who races in the RedBull air races with the Edge . I saw him fly at the Abbotsford, BC air show (2012) with the Red Bull Livery on his plane and it was stunning to see that plane fly to the edge of the flight envelope and that paint scheme just popped out on the horizon .
There was a couple of years that the air races were not competeing , i believe 2011-2013 so Pete McLeod who is a Canadian , he flew at various airshow during this time and it was amazing to see these highly skilled pilots fly.

That is a beautiful scheme that Pete McLeod has, I have never seen that one.
I am currently scratch building Martin Sonka's Edge 540V3 that he is racing in the Red Bull series. I just fell in love with airplane when the wife & I went to the Indianapolis air race last year. I gotta have one!

These aircraft are really amazing and i love the different schemes they come up with every year . What size are you building 35% or larger :too-cool:, these air races compete at LasVegas of least they did the last couple of years flying the course over the speedway in Vegas.

My Edge 540V3 is right at 40% scale, and it's going to be more of a scale model than an IMAC model. The outline will be as close as I can get it to the real plane, no deviations to make it fly better. I am planning on competing in scale contests with it as well as flying some IMAC stuff.

I like that maple leaf wrapped around the vertical tail, thats cool!

Are you building it from plans of the Edge V3 540 40% or just free styling the design .
I hope you have a large trailer because at 40% the airframe will be around 120" long . Your going to need at least a 170cc engine for thrust .

Well just read the build thread from front to back just picking up some ideas that I remembered in the thread. Looking good getting to the end. The only thing that will most likely hold back is the weather.

Just got off the phine withDA service and they said the weight will really on effect the quickness of the spool up of the engine .
My guess it will take a little longer to slow down when the throttle is back .

I'm have an issue with the thickness of the Biela propellors, the 26x12 protudes 1.5 mm out from the output shaft .
Then the Biela 27x12 is 5.8 mm protruding from the output shaft. Asked about the thickness of the Mejzlik props and they said the hubs are thinner than most of the other propellors on the market .
