I guess on motors we should mention MVVS, @TazmanianDevil loves them. :)

@Tavis and others were trying to influence me towards ZDZ since I got back... but I thought it was hype. haha What finally motivated me was the Euro Krill guys I made friends with on Facebook. They love their DLEs (in those expensive Krills) but love the ZDZ-180s the most. The way their planes look, and the way these guys fly... I figured I had to trust them. haha

I'm personally a fan of building a bell crank choke set up. Crashing my Wildhare CAP 232 when I accidentally hit the choke switch on the radio is the reason lol!

I have been using a GP-176EVO for the last month or so which replaced a DLE-170 because I took out a cylinder and jug, and all I have to say is WOW! It fires up on the 3rd to 5th flip with choke and then 3rd to 4th flip with choke off and runs beautifully. I can't believe how smooth it is at an idle and the power is out of this world. I thought the DLE was great on power with the RE3's but, it is nothing compared to the 176. The 176 is in my IMAC bird, a 3DHS 330LX, and it is really nice to have extra power when it is needed. I have about a dozen flights on the engine so far and was told by Ken Crane, the guy I bought the engine from, that I should start to see the full potential of the engine start to show up in the next 4 to 6 flights. I know GP has had their issues with the 176EVO in the past but, in my book this engine is a keeper!!

The DLE is back together and running fine on the 42% Edge with stock mufflers but, I still have the headers and may be putting the RE3's on it after I pick up some Planebender smooth pipes from Dave Sullivan. He says I will pick up at least another 250 rpm over the RE3's.

Sorry to get off topic :)

I have the headers for a 176 but I still have the quality issues that came about fresh in my mind. I might end up getting a 176EVO after all though, we will see.

DOD and WildHare, those were the days. :)

I'm always talking to these guys at the field about getting their kills and chokes off the switches. I put my kill on the slider, it's hard to get to. And, my choke on the spring switch. Even if I accidentally bump the choke switch it still won't kill the engine. I have to hold it down for a couple of seconds... it takes intention. :)

Damn I'm hungry
I'm getting all "choked" up reading all this :cryin:. Specially seeing that CAP. I always make a manual choke. But I have also accidently killed the engine with the ignition cut off. And of course it was during a hover.....:face-palm:.
