What To Do About Teflon Coming Off of Flex Portion of Header

Ben, unfortunately that's the nature of wrapped flex headers. Do youself a favor and get an mtw knuckle header and say goodbye the Teflon wrapping for ever. You will also get a much better seal, so if using pipes, that will give you better power boost as well.

First 100cc and IMAC dedicated plane

Jack, if you go the 35% route, for IMAC, the DA100 wont have enough juice, the DA120 or 3W110 or DLE111 or my personal favourite the GP123 (with great power comes great responsibility). All on cans and your good to go with the best power to weight in this class period. If you went with the DLE...

First 100cc and IMAC dedicated plane

Jack, my take on this is stick to wood planes in the 100cc size. All the composites I have seen in this size have all needed significant amounts of lead in the nose to offset the tail weight inherent in these composite planes. Hold off doing anything until you have a few comps under your...

IMAC practice tips for new pilots.

Jordan, have you ever competed in VIC mate? Can't seem to find any history of your wins in the little state? Jack, yes most of us are good blokes, except for the guys from Wagga!!

    GP 88 EVO thread

Kinda don't have much of a choice for IC with a bird like that. Maybe the DA100 inline twin, but its really just two DA50 bolted back to back, so probably gonna have some vibes unless they cycle them out of phase to cancel out each other. Go onto FG and look for the 88EVO thread. A lot of...

    GP 88 EVO thread

I've never seen the GP88 Jack, but all accounts is it makes the DA85 seem like it is having a fit!! Apparently the GP88 is very smooth for a big single. I don't know of any single that is gonna be dead smooth though.

    GP 88 EVO thread

Jack, I've got the GP123 twin on my 104" extra and clocked up some 600 flights this year with it on Proflo Cans. Apart from a dicky Rxcel sensor it has been fantastic. I'd say if your looking for a great single for the Tocano, go ahead and order the GP88EVO. I've heard nothing but great reports...

    Savox 2231SG Brushless Servos

Tomcat, beware of the 2231 servos. I had two in my 104" extra that stripped out the centre gear in 6 flights. And the flights were relatively easy, trim and mixing setup flights. To be sure they are high torque and speed, but lots of issues with gears stripping. My first one stripped around...

    Extreme Flight 104 Extra

Nice setup Gyro. I use the powerbox Comp SRS on mine with two SBUS 3 channel Futaba Rx. Only 5 flights so far, but rock solid. The powerbox has a neat little function where you can check for lost info packets at the end of each flight, and so far its faultless. My 104 is still a bit nose...

    Extreme Flight 104 Extra

Actually didn't get mine through Fergus, Gary. Got it from US distributor. But there is no way these were pre-run before leaving Taiwan, otherwise Fergus would have picked up all the sensor issues that are cropping up. Anyway, its all sorted for now.

    Extreme Flight 104 Extra

Youre telling me!! Frustrating to say the least, and to find it was only that pissy little sensor causing the issues. So much for the marketing hype that GP Taiwan factory run every single engine before it goes out to their distributors. There are many people having starting issues with this...

    Extreme Flight 104 Extra

I know, I know, in my defense I only got the motor running yesterday arvo. As soon as the spinner arrives it'll go into the air. Its a long way from USA to this back water!!

    Extreme Flight 104 Extra

Lol... Sure will Mr 9 months, or was it 11 months to build yours?

    Extreme Flight 104 Extra

All is ready now apart from the spinner Gary. Ran up the gp123 several times yesterday, and now it starts as easy as any other well set up motor. Still a little rich on the low end and plenty of black crap coming out of mine as well. Cant wait to get it in the air.

    Extreme Flight 104 Extra

Nice Gary, mine is still waiting for the replacement GP123 to arrive from Taiwan. The first one I got had some ignition problems preventing reliable starting. Hopefully the new engine will get her up and going.
