AMA will not do or require anything from FAA. They will let FAA do there on work. Dimes them county mounties cant do **** for the FAA. No jurisdiction whatsoever. Would invite them over for a chicken wing anytime unless there were drugs involved.

It is not a jurisdictional issue. It's public law. Weather locals choose to enforce it or not would be the concern but as we discussed over the phone I feel the same way and have had a belly full of the BS. Go fly and be well. Yea! "That's the ticket"

I really think there needs to be a new seprate association that represents airplanes and helis. No control line, no free flight, no multi rotor. Everybody steps up with first year dues, we hire some of the nra lawyers for our lobby group and go our own seprate way from ama.

Can anyone really answer this question? We need the AMA for what? Your club does not need ama. Your homeowners covers you first. They obviously do not provide anything of use. Your club can set its own guidelines for safety. Obviously they have no say when it comes to law. They have admitted this yesterday in an email to a club member yesterday. They certainly did nothing for a local club that got shut down in Nowthen Minnesota by the city and one angry neighbor. I really dont see the point of ANYONE renewing membership.

We are going to see in a few weeks that the ama actually bargained to get this deal. There should be public record. The minutes are probably available. People are really going to be mad when we find out what has really transpired.

My radio controlled aircraft is NOT a drone. A "drone" is a vehicle that flys with a camera and autonomously.

First gyros, now this..... Sheriff Buford T. Justice said it best.... "What in the hell is this world comin to"......

Actually, dictionary.com for DRONE says "any unmanned aircraft or ship that is guided remotely"

Since you mention gyro's in planes, doesn't that make it operate autonomously, without human control? Sure does.

Has the AMA gone before a judge to have the implementation of this rule stopped due to it being contrary to established law. If not why? It seems to me, even though I'm no lawyer, that it should be fairly easy to prove that this goes against the law passed by congress. At least for those of us flying airplanes line of sight. Has anyone heard if any of that is in the works? Or does the AMA want to throw all of us under the bus instead of just the FPV guys.
